OSHC

Our School P&C Association is the Approved Provider of the onsite Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service.

In addition to following the Schools 4 Pillars of Respect, the OHSC Service bases its operations, programs and practice on goals that promote the learning outcomes for children as outlined in the ‘My Time, Our Place’ Framework for School Age Care in Australia. The Stafford Heights State School Outside School Hours Care program is entirely child-centred. This means that the children decide what they would like to do and learn, they are active participants in the planning, programming, development and direction of the OSHC service.

Your child will have access to a range of art and craft activities, construction, fine motor and cognitive activities like puzzles, pickup sticks, board games and more. We also encourage physical and mental health through the utilization of different areas and play spaces within the school grounds including the playground, hall and ovals.

We are also on Pupil Free Days and Vacation Care, so if your child does not need before or after school care, they are still welcome to attend on these days. Prep students are welcome to attend Vacation Care from the 1st of January of their starting school year. 

Similarly, there are a number of extra-curricular activities run on the school grounds that are accessible to children while attending OSHC. These include chess club, tennis lessons and swim lessons during terms 1 & 4. Please speak with the OSHC Coordinator if your child will be attending these activities.

As a P&C run OSHC service we encourage parent participation and welcome you to have input into program planning and service delivery. You are welcome to attend our monthly P&C meetings and/or OSHC meetings or through communication with your OSHC Coordinator.
